About the ISEJ

The International Student Experience Journal is a peer-reviewed online publication for those involved in the field of  researching, teaching and providing services to international students in higher education in the UK and other English speaking countries. The Journal links the everyday concerns of university staff, including academics, researchers and EAP practitioners, with insights gained from related academic disciplines such as applied linguistics, education, psychology, and sociology.

This first issue includes, among others, articles based on the presentations from the BALEAP Leicester 2011 Professional Issue Meeting (PIM) which themes was, How good is the international student experience in British Universities and how can we help to improve it?.

We would like to invite contributions to the next issue of the ISEJ to be published in Autumn 2013.

For Authors

The ISEJ welcomes contributions from:
  •  academics teaching and doing research  which explores aspects of international students' experience
  • staff from academic institutions  involved in delivering services to international students  
  • international students who wish to share their learning experiences while studying in the UK or other English-speaking countries.  
We invite contributions in a number of categories: articles, comments, responses and reviews.
